I am an accountant turned artist - or artist turned accountant turned artist?
A note from Sophi:
"Keep this because I'll be a famous artist one day."
That is what I wrote on the back of a greeting card that I drew circa 2009. Signed with my signature, of course. My grandma still has that card.
During an aspiring singer/actress phase of my very young childhood (I only sing along in the car and I've never taken an acting class), my dad responded with "have fun waiting tables."
In 2013, I was accepted into college as a Fine Arts major. After hearing about the lack of opportunity in the art industry enough times, I finally surrendered the idea of being a professional artist.
So then came the switch to an accounting degree, then a tax consultant job in 2018, then fired from that because I was "not a good fit" (no shit).
While I've dabbled in art for fun, I never really indulged my creative side. Now, at 27, I am finally fueling that chubby, little five-year-old wannabe-artist's soul.
Thanks for checking out my work. I like bull skulls.
